Part 4 Exercises
This is a collection of exercises for the entire group
to be completed
between the third and fourth meetings.
For The Fourth Meeting
- Read the support material for Part 4 and write down
any questions that arise for discussion in the fourth meeting.
-
Please review your answers to the questions
discussed in Part 1.
- For the first two questions, has the list of
things you
said you wanted to achieve changed? Has it become clearer? Have you set
goals and created a plan to meet the goals? In other words, do you have
more certainty and confidence about both your work and yourself as an
artist?
- In terms of the last three questions, have you
achieved
a satisfactory balance in your resource utilization, or a plan to
achieve such?
-
Do you still
have
outstanding issues around any of the questions?
If so please let us know by return mail so we can prepare a response
for the next meeting.
-
If you have any new questions or major issues
for our
consideration, send them ahead also.
-
Reflecting on what you have gained from this
course,
prepare a 15 minute (roughly) presentation covering the following
points:
-
Where you are at the present and the events
and
discoveries that occurred since you started this course to bring you to
this point.
-
Identify the issues that currently present
challenges for you and a plan of how to address them.
-
Use work done since the last meeting to
illustrate
these points if you are able to.
-
A statement of where you see yourself heading
and
what your longer term goals might be.
-
Collect together and bring the pieces of work we
discussed in the last meeting, to this meeting for review. Be prepared
to talk about the changes you made, particularly if they resulted in
new insight or changes to your working process. Be ready with further
questions arising from what you did or attempted. If you have no work
of this sort, bring a couple of other pieces that we haven't seen, for
critique or discussion.
Closing Request
-
If you intend to be part of the next level of the
program,
please send us as comprehensive a list as possible, your concerns, the
issues you want to address, the problems you want to work on, and
anything related to program content or format.
-
One thing that would help us to go forward, would
be
if you could list a few things that stood out as being very good or
helpful, both in terms of the material we covered and the format or
presentation. Then, if you could list a few things you would change if
you were running it - that is things you didn't like or you felt didn't
work or wasted time. It will help us design more effective future
courses and workshops. Good painting!
